the museum and you: creating multiple experiences

This year's Communicating the Museum conference, held in the elegant city of Düsseldorf, was very inspiring. 250 delegates came once more from all over the world to learn from their peers. It was a busy, three day programme with a panel of 50 international speakers talking about their professional experience. The conference began with an engaging introduction by Amit Sood, director of Google Art Project, about digital issues. It closed with a focus on the sponsor’s experience led by E.ON, Germany’s leading cultural sponsor. The Wikimedia Foundation training about Wikipedia was also a great addition to the CTM conference. At the end of the three days, delegates had learned many amazing stories about the Visitor Experience, the overarching theme.

Everyone enjoyed the welcome reception held at K20 and the amazing surprise dinner organised at Insel Hombroich in the countryside. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet peers and build new and lasting contacts.

I would like to thank the Museum Kunspalast for being such a wonderful host and Fundacion Mapfre for being a great partner.

Thank you to Düsseldorf. We had an unforgettable experience.
